Jose Mourinho has quit (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/c/chelsea/7003912.stm) tonight as Chelsea manager, following on from the disappointing draw agains't Rosenborg last night (with an attendance 20,000 short of capacity).

I think it's been on the cards for a while, due to interference from Roman Abramovich, and I think Mourinho has way too much integrity and dignity to put up with it any more. Good on him, he will be missed in the Premiership, but will certainly not find work hard to come by :beer1:

I'm not talking about his pitch-side antics, I mean that he will not be told which players to field, and will do things his way or not at all.

And whatever tantrums and comments he throws about, he is no liar or cheat - that is integrity. And you're right, he is a character and personality who will be missed - love him or hate him.

Interestingly, the BBC reporter who broke the news (Jonathan Legard) has an audio report on the page now, in which he reveals Abramovich wanted the Champions League delivered twice in the first decade of his reign.

OK, fair enough - agreed.

Not so sure about that. He has made a fuss over so many decisions, last season, rather than this, but he has made them.

It's common knowledge that he makes a fuss, and a big fuss, so as much as I like him, I'm not so sure about integrity.

Just watched him on TV whilst remonstrating against a goal v Blackburn and throwing a monitor to the ground in front of the 4th official....Integrity? Not so sure...

That shows a lack of dignity, but not integrity, I think he's an honest guy.

Oh, and you can't blame him - it was a goal no matter how you look at it! :)
