Another nail in the coffin of Cortex which is ashame in reality as the did invent the HD dual drive??? But I have stuck with Denon and Im afraid that they just keep doing things right for us guys ironing out the inventors problems?????? Congrats to DENON yet again whom are in reality Technics biggest rivals in the near future

I wouldn't say that, if they were in the same price bracket, then you'd have a point. I don't think Cortex invented the HD player, but they were the quickest to get their player onto the market - as they knew that they would get the first wave of money! If they had waited and ironed out all of the flaws and what have you, they would be closer to the HD2500 in terms of performance, but wouldn't have got as many initial sales.

:agree:
I think there will always be a market for the Cortex players & mthe D2, as not everyone wants, or can afford High end gear.

LoL,
Maybe I'm being synical! Yep, we were in the running, from what I mentioned earlier, they could hardly pick us could they :p
It was a great night out though, free bar for it too! (which helped with Ministry of Sound prices). Then after it was the launch party of the DJM 700 too!

Been running my Cortex since last Xmas ( not every week ) but a fair bit recently and for the Entertainer who wants a simple bang on a few Cheese Party and Disco numbers approach--like me--absolute magic.
Using it last night at a Wedding---flawless performance--like me:D
I dont doubt theres been a few faulty ones around but I can only speak from personal experience--im sure Dave ( Dragonfly ) would tell you the same.
Im sure the Denon is great for you "sophisticated " entertainers out there--
Generally USB readers seem to have been THE success story of the year --

Cortex HDC 1000 £400
2 Hard drives from Maplins say £140
Keyboard £20
Thats it Rob---you can afford it--
Think of all that saving on carrying CD boxes AND WHEN THE REQUESTS COME IN--TAP TAP TAP ------job done!
Oh and to coin your phrase---Taxman will help you to pay for it!!!!!
regards
