Just done a 40th at whittlesford village hall with the most pathetic sound limiter about. people clapping and singing even tripped the sensor to my disgust I even unplugged the bass speakers to aleviate the issue without success. 8 times in 1 night drove me to despair and worried me for my amps sake which I have checked it over since and it is fine

I can only say that it got to the point of me wanting to pack up and go home. I may as well have put a 50w home stereo in the building but even that would have tripped it. Thankfully the birthday boy was very happy and saw the funny side of the events and it had made all happy that I persevered regardless

Here's a warning list of places to avoid if you have any others you wish too add be my guest put them below for all too see

Whittlesford Village Hall Cambridgeshires (faulty sound limiter)
Claire Town Hall (has to be turned back on behind bar area)
The Bull Hotel in Long Melford (reasonable venue and limiter)

He probably wouldnt have been so happy if you had had to bill him for damaged equipment.

I personally refuse to work in venues with sound limiters. I have known them to take out amps, lights, speakers and computers all in one hit. For me its not worth the risk.
