Does anyone have even a ballpark figure as to how much it will cost for a mobile dj with a van stored in his garage?

How long is a peice of string??

Seriously.. there are way too many variables to give a pallpark figure

Area you live, type of van, age of van, no claims, convictions etc. etc.

Costs me £1177, but thats cos i'm a boy racer innit...

Usually insurance for teenagers is more expensive.
(you're all boy racers, inexperienced, not to be trusted.... and being a DJ as well, that just makes you the lowest of the low!!!!   )

Chill.

Angela was being sarcastic. That's why the insurance companies load your policies 'cos they think the above.

You must learn to read 'into' posts a bit more.

Sorry for confusion KMA - I wasn't seriously suggesting you were 'the lowest of the low'. As Darren said, I was just saying how insurance companies rate things: DJs (for some reason) are considered high risk and so get higher premiums than other professions. Same goes for teenagers. Therefore, as you are both a teenager and a DJ............

E-van insurance. Fully comp. Age 39. Full NCB on my car but couldn't use it on my van, so currently no NCB. Peugeot Partner 1.9. Garaged. Me and the Mrs allowed to drive. £185 including breakdown cover. 4000 miles p/a. :o

Not with Quinn.. infact my premium didn't change at all when I tried Police Officer, Driving Instructor, Solicitor and Priest instead of DJ as my occupation!

Yeah problem is according to their information on their website they don't insure Bailiffs, Bodyguards, Debt Collectors, Doormen, Journalists, Motor Traders, Professional Entertainers, Models or Sportsmen...

So not much good for us DJ's then!

Hey peps, just seen this title of this - havent had time to read through ti all so sorry if it's already been suggested.

I was having the difficulty of insuring my van, as everyone 'assummed' it was my livilyhood (and i understand it may be for alot of you) however - i was advised to go to NFU Mutual (Yes, the National Farmers Union - they dont just insure farmers!!) - they beat my quote with direct line! You will need to dig aruond their website a bit to get the number you will need for your area.

- No Excess
- I had 1 yrs no claims, they decided to give me 5, and allowed me to protect it
- £25 if my windscreen needs replaced
- No call centres, real people!

A few pointers:

- They dont insure you in big cities
- You need to be at least 25
- less than 5 points

As i say, may not be the best for some, but give them a try :)

- No call centres, real people!

I think you're confusing the idea of a call-centre with IVR (integrated voice response) systems. Call-centres, by definition, are real people ;)

I found I got the best deals on the web...

"W" Berlingo van, intro bonus (keeping car which has full ncb... given intro bonus on 2nd vehicle) £301.

My car... Mercedes SLK, garaged & tracker, full ncb, fully comp, £208. High street broker wanted over £1000.

Don't pick the first price you get offered, and make sure that you put your phone number on the forms... twice now I have had phone calls offering a better deal after a few hours.

Probably the best deal was my daughter's boyfriend... age 18, just passed test, "S" Berlingo van, no ncb, £380 fully comp. Local broker said £2500+.

Not a bad deal for my daughter, either, age 17, still learning, "03" Corsa diesel, just under £600 fully comp.

A few years ago I had a BMW M3... very fast car... group 20. The high street broker said £4800 with full ncb, tracker & garaged overnight. Tesco said £690. I sold the car while I still had a licence....
