I'm new to this forum but I regularly post on various technical forums around the world, mainly on website design & accessibility, electronics, programming and inventions.

I was made aware of this forum by one of our clients; DJ - John Crosby.

I'd genuinely like to offer my help to anyone here that may need assistance with electronics, web design, business issues and so on...

I'm posting here first, so that hopefully none of you chaps will shout at me if I try to offer help later on! :o

I do a lot of work for community groups and charities, and I teach about website accessibility issues to local businesses on behalf of disability groups and the disabled in general.

I've spent a good part of my life repairing equipment for bands and DJ's ("as a favour!" or if I was lucky, "for a pint!") :rolleyes: Later I helped out with computers and web design, then 12 years ago, I made website design into my 'day job'.

Anyway, enough rambling, give me shout if I can help with any of the above.

e.g. Professional or DIY web design?

Your comments on why a professional service can often be better than DIY; would you be comfortable hiring your uncle Albert to run the disco at your own very special wedding reception, or would you use a professional DJ? :rolleyes:

DIY can be very effective up to a point (especially if you put some effort in) but beyond a certain level, you have to start thinking about using a professional. It also depends on how serious a person is about their business and their credibility. :cool:
