I've done it.

Written out my resignation, handing it in tomorrow.
So I won't be returning to the place when my sicknote runs out.

:p

Hi Kaz,

Your post wasn't clear...are you leaving to get a job somewhere else, or to go self employed in the entertainment business?

Sorry guys, I forgot you don't all know everything about me, my apologies.
I will try to explain myself better next time.

I have not got another job, hoping the disco side of things will pick up

My day job (ok it's only 3 hours a day) but getting up at 4.30am is not good for me and is detrimental to my health, and I have now been referred back to the neurologist.

3 years ago the doctors, consultants etc. weren't sure what was wrong, they had 3 choices

Brain Tumour
Stroke
MS

turned out to be inflammation of the brain, but they don't know what caused it, but it has left me with a bit of slight weakness in my left arm, but it has become more noticeable recently - plus the stress of work (not the job itself , but the environment - back biting, bitchiness, lack of support etc.) hasn't helped.

Whilst I've been signed off sick, (I've been off 4 weeks now, got another 2 to go) the arm has improved, so I made the decision to quit the "day job".

I'd rather have my health, and put all my time and energy (at least I have some energy now) into the disco.

Absolutely!

I'm glad to hear your arm is better, and wish you the best of luck with the discos.

Don't forget, there is an army of experts on this forum who can offer help if you need it.

I'm here as well!

Best of luck, Kaz! I've just done the opposite: left the day job over 3 years ago following a serious injury, but I've gone back to paid employment a couple of weeks ago - but just part-time. Having recovered sufficiently to now cope with going out to work every day, I decided it would be good to keep my hand in (Property Law) to keep my options open in the future...... plus the extra money won't go amiss either! ;)

Well done Angela. How does it feel to be back in work 3 years?

After a three year gap, it does feel strange going out to work each day, but it's a good job (I've pretty much got a free hand to sort things out the way I want and manage my team the way I think will work best) and it seems to be a very friendly, easy-going firm..... so all in all, not too bad!

...plus, I don't need to get up early in the morning! :D

All the best, it may seem tough, but the extra peace of mind it will bring is immense. Since I quit the day job, ( redundancy) I have been much happier. Broke, but happier!:D

Update!!

Popped into work today. Knocked on the door of the office. My boss opened the door, didn't ask how I was, just said hello. I handed him my resignation, he just said thanks. He started to open it as I left. Nothing else was said.

Within the hour, my job was advertised!!

Now. I know I made the right decision about leaving.

I am so happy!!

:agree:

I had that once, my boss was in the room next to his office, I told him I'd had enough and handed him my notice, and he told me to leave it on his desk in his office

By the sounds of it Kaz, you definitely did the right thing! :)
