LED Lighting

I'm thinking about getting a couple of LED Lights, probably PAR 36 or 56, and will use them as Master/Slave (i.e. no DMX controller neded).

Anyone give me any thoughts/recommendations of what type/make, etc.

I am about to sell some too.

I bought 2 from Thomann and didn't realise they wouldn't master and slave, so then bought a pair of LEDJ Par 56s which do link master and slave.

I have now bought a pair of these (http://www.prolight.co.uk/item.php?hdnID=508127) which are £100 each, but are contollable by either a CA-8 or this (http://www.prolight.co.uk/item.php?hdnID=508141) controller. The controller is excellent and pretty easy to use.

I am going to buy more as I want to start offering an uplighting service for rooms.

Par 36s are pinspot size and a waste of time for a dance floor. The 64s that I've just bought are slightly brighter then the 56s and cover a larger area, giving more of a wash.

I bought the 64s as you can use a CA-8 (of which I have a spare!) to control them, though I will get the controller for the room lighting when it comes back in stock.

By non master and slave, I mean you can DMX them with a controller, but they won't link together and run by themselves.

The Eurolites are only £69 and do the job very well! Considering you are going to need around 15 - 20 units to do a reasonable room, you could save a fortune with them

No, you didn't give me the idea, I've been playing around with it for a while.

The reason I got what I did was explained a while back. There are very easy ways of controlling them via a CA-8 or specific controller which is very very simple to use for changing colours etc and also they are self addressing too.
