Wow what a night, i am drained mentally

let me put you in the picture, booked for a 65th Birthday party for Friday (tonight) Rung a few times a couple of nights ago to check all ok as booked 5 months a ago, no answer (have signed contract and deposit) so left a message on the answer machine.

Got there in plenty of time to set up, half way through the lady that booked came in and had a word ' sorry to tell you he died last night, but we shall have the party in his memory' !!!!!

As you can imagine not many wanted to dance, if I was honest they really didnt care whch was afair enough, but i got through it, hand picked every tune to make sure there where nothing about death, which is hard diverting from the normal play list.

But I got thrugh it, tears in the end from the last track Unchanged melody, said my goodnights and huge round of applauds and lots of thankyous for a very difficult job, hell I could say
that was one of the hardest nights i have done.

just thought I get that of my chest

Wow, that sounds like it was a nightmare of a gig Mike, well done for getting through it. I can imagine it must have been one of those nights which dragged... no-one wants to dance, no matter what you play... :(
