Hi

Last one from me today...

Ive seen alot about "Virtual DJ", and the use of a PC/Laptop to DJ, as opposed to using CD's.

Ive always used CD's and a Twin Numark Player for mobile DJ'ing, but now see that using a virtual dj system may be the way to go.

Is there a thread, or site that can tell me exactly what I need, and how to use this method of DJ'ing?

I already have a laptop, so is it a case of burning all my CD's onto my hard drive, buying the Virtual DJ software, and plugging in my Mackies to my laptop somehow and playing the tracks direct from the hard drive on my laptop?

I guess not, seems too easy, but your help welcomed.

You will need a mixer and good sound card between the laptop and speakers

Thanks,

Ive got a basic KAM 4 channel mixer.

Can you recommend a suitable mixer and soundcard?

Is that all I need then? I guess its a good idea also to have a back-up laptop too incase of crashing.

Either a Gigaport AG or Maya 44 sound card in usb format.
As for mixers, anything with 2 or more channels depending on budget
