a friend told me that a band that had enquired about his lazer and where did he get it had rung up to tell him that they ring the company and they said that they wouldnt advise getting a laser because a few bands dj ect have been done
by people saying that there eyesight has been effected just to clame compensation

i also heard of people taking djs to court fo something called black lace syndrome and indie itous indie itous mainly effects sutdents they jump around like fools and only listen to indie because they think its cool and they think everyone else should listen to it

I dont like using lasers for this reason. Aparantly there are various classes of laser, and I think they range from something like 1bl to 5bl, or something like this.

Anything above class 3 is dangerous to the eye and have to be used in a controlled environment. Most of the lasers dj's use are class 2 to 4.

They are effective though, but are they worth the risk?

It scares me how lasers are so easily available to anyone without giving information about safe use. Unless operated within the H&S guidelines (which have been around for many years) they are dangerous and can blind people.
If a chancer tries it on, if you can demonstrate that you are operating the laser safely in acordance with H&S guidlines then you will be fine.

It's the same old story of the few idiots spoiling for the rest. One idiot blinds someone with a laser and suddenly ALL DJ's should be hung for using them:mad:

My advice if you're using or going to use a laser is to risk assess every gig before you power it up, if you're not happy that it can be used safely........ don't!
Oh, and read up on the H&S guidelines before you think of taking a laser anywhere. The info is all on the H&S website, just search for lasers :D
