Hey folks,

Just seen the following on youtube and these scanners look rather smart for that they are, Does anybody have a pair or seen these in action?

I am thinking about getting 4 of them for a small set up for the not so good venues lol

i use 2 of them in my setup and imo i think there rather good lights for the money. sound to light is good and there easy to setup.

here they are in my setup if you havent seen them in the gallery??

so are the optics pretty good and do they not bounce around the room like some other scanners that work sound to light do

i think there really bright but the only thing that bugs me is when your playing a slow song they go into strobe mode which dont look good but this this can be controlled via controller (i think, not to sure).

there not the fastest scanner like the acme range but they do move at all speeds.

hope this helps

Thats good, i don't like scanners that bounce around the venue anyway

as you are hoping to buy four (if you do) spread them out with equal spaces and the lights will look good and fill the room with light. just have a moonflower in the middle or somthing and your sorted. :)

just an idea anyway

Did you just add the avatar/sig combo? If so please, please, please lose the apostrophe! The plural of Disco is Discos, NOT Disco's </PSA>

Just coming back to the Smart Scan scanner, thy look OK, but at the price they are selling them for, I think I'd be more likely to go for the Dynamos.

Yeah i might go for dynamos yet, still to see the 250w dynamo in action!

 Thats my video . They are good lights very bright and the dynamos don't have seperate gobo colour wheel. On the smarts you don't have to set the dips as they have an onboard controller(the blue on the lights).

Oh yes i forgot to add. Todays the last day of the sale so if you buy them today you can save £20 on each.

they do look good

so do they move nice and elegantly unlike the dynamos make a bit of a jittery movement when they are scanning?

So you just plug the dmx leads in and link them together and they work together then as i have this on my abstract Extreme DJ XP range

Yes they do move better than the dynamos in my opnion. They can be linked together. A lot of people don't like them just because they have the prosound badge on them.

Ever heard of the on off switch :D :D :D

You dont need Scanners on slow numbers---you need mood lighting

I'd disagree with that slightly Al - the moving heads look fantastic on their slow setting sweeping round the room in UV purple or pink.

when i get a controller then i can do stuff like darren says.

i think i will get 4 dynamo scanners as they are cheaper in the package than getting 4 of these, scanners look well in 4's anyway :D

Yup.. it looks great..
Especially with them on 'prism' settings slowing rotating.

Good luck with that.. it isn't exactly easy or actually needed... although if you are after a followspot I reccomend the Robert Juliats Super Korrigan.. only £4500k each.:)

I think it was just you seeing twice..

I would say they would be better.... although if i am looking at the correct ones.. they only have a combined colour / gobo wheel.... If i were you I would go for a different 250w scanner that had seperate wheels = more options available to you.
