LED pars vs Mac 600

Ok so we were having a convo backstage at the theatre.. about buying in a rig of various lights.. for massive gig work etc (as us techies do:p )
And we were talking about mac 600 washes and mac 2ks.....
Some actor interupted and said.. why don't we just get led pars...

Although.. I have got 1 disco booking from a person at work today.. and 3 quotes today... wall of which i expect to book :)

Ohhh i forgot to mention..
whilst me getting stupidly annoyed with stage crew who don't think that people can see them (when walking onto a stage...:bang: :bang: )..
It was a doubly good night.

Someone who was meant to be crew / followspot trained for the upcomming shows has said he doesn't want to do it...
So it means I am going to be working pretty much every show, because there isn't enough crew...... $$$.

Actually, before you judge the LED pars, i'd bet on the LEDJ Par 64 version outperforming the Mac for projection of RED. You'd be suprised how well they work in haze.

I assume you mean there's no holes or gaps in the rear of the casing to suggest they are projecting light.

I was inferring that you can't tell if LED pars are on just by looking at them (due to the fact that they aren't very bright!).

I guess that when you have to explain a joke, you know it hasn't worked!

hmm yes.. but the point was 1) i don't like people butting in lol!
2) we were talking about a massive full rig of mixxed generics and movers... and he comes in with "get a few led pars"
