Which type of fuse

Afternoon All

Can anyone tell me the best type of fuse to use with an LED Par 56 Can?
At the moment the only spare I have is a glass 250v quick blow fuse, which came as a spare with my Dynamo's, will this be ok?

You need to find out the Amp rating of the fuse that blew and replace it with an identical one.

Those quickblow fuses can be bought cheaply on the web in kits with different values, or down at Maplins for a few p each.

For example, if your fuse is rated 1,6A or 1A6 (same thing, different way of writing it) then replace it with the same. If your effect keeps blowing them, maybe put it up to a 2A but NO HIGHER for risk of damaging it.

At the moment my Led Par 56 has a quick blow glass fuse in it and on the rim it says F200m Al250V

I replaced it with a spare fuse which I had from one of my acme dynamo scans which is T3. 15AL 250V this works fine but am worried as the Par Cans are from Germany I dont want to blow them up with the wrong fuse.

Can anyone help me please?

You need to put the same fuse in as what was inthe unit in the 1st place.
Fuse one is a 200ma fuse and you have put a 3.15amp fuse in which is way to high.
If you unit has a fault you run the risk of a fire as the fuse it to high for the unit.Also you pli will not be valid.

Ok an update on the faulty Blue LED Par Cans (If your intrested)

I called Thomann and they said it was most probably a fuse blown inside due to the low power fuses they put in these units compared to our power supply in England & Ireland.
All I have to do now is try and figure out how to open up these bad boys and stick in a higher fuse.& yet they didn't suggest a suitable replacement.

probably an abreviation of 200ma as already said. Or could indicate the blow time 200 miliseconds or similar. You will need a fuse rated to 250v with a 500ma blow (the lowest I can find) you can find them here http://www.maplin.co.uk/module.aspx?ITAG=SPEC&ModuleNo=17384&doy=7m10#spec

Checked mine but kind seem to find a fuse anywhere. A bit strange so maybe they are internal only. When I get a bit of time ill open one up and have a play.
