Chasing Lights

Ok im trying to work out how I can get a chasing effect using LED Par 56 Cans and using my Satirville DMX Controller.
I now know how to programme my lights and controller but cant figure out how to make a set of 4 or 5 par's chase each other from say left to right. Any ideas?

You have to set a scene for each lamp in turn with the others on blackout, then run a chase of the set of scenes.

E.G. Choose a bank
Turn on Can 1 on, the rest off save scene.
Can 2 on, the rest off save scene.
Can 3 on, the rest off save scene.
and so on.....

Then run the chase of those scences as you would with other lights.

I did it with 7 Pars. Set the first to red second to green 3rd Blue 4th Yellow 5th Magenta 6th Cyan 7th White as first scene then moved them all along one for the next and so on.

Problem with doing this is each par can needs a seperate address, so if you have lots of other lights you can run out of fixture (scanner) buttons quite quickly.

I suppose you could set up the Parcans using the upper and lower banks, thus Parcan 1 would be set at address 1 and Parcan 2 would be set at address 9, Parcan 3 set at 17 and Parcan 4 set at 25 etc. This would still give you individual control over each Parcan but take up a smaller number of (scanner) fixture buttons.

I would say do this, but if you can work it out, have each of the channels either side slightly up, so it created a more smooth change between cans. As they will take half a second to fully dull, this will halt it slightly.
