Well I was thinking of maybe it was about time we had some sort of forum meet up. I suggest some time in January.

3 reasons for Jan:

a) It's usually a quieter period

b) We'll all have money after the Christmas rush

c) We'll probably all need to let our hair down a bit after Christmas / NYE

Not for me...my friend always has a holiday for a few weeks in January, and I run his entertainment agency from him while he's away.

b) We'll all have money after the Christmas rush

True...but we'll also have the massive credit card bills after the extortionate expense of Christmas!

c) We'll probably all need to let our hair down a bit after Christmas / NYE

Very true...although some of us have less to let down than others!!!

Assuming it doesn't clash with my work & is within a reasonable distance, I'd love to come along!

Don't be silly. I told you cob nuts have a very short season, there won't be any around in January

Previously, we've tried to keep them fairly central (OK they've all been near Nottingham) & they've all been mid week (strangely they've all been close to birthdays for some reason).

I see no reason not to go for mid week again, now all we need is a venue & somewhere to sleep.

Nottingham?

That's almost Scotland from where I am :(

I'm usually in the Sahf London area midweek so it might just be possible to take a couple of hours off and whizz up the M1 I guess.

Reckon I can charge my travelling expenses as 'Trade Event' ?

just had a look on how far it is to greater manchester just for an example and it would be about 240 miles form my address. just over 4 hour drive. i think this would have to be some kind of weekend shin dig. make it last a bit longer than just a day if it does go ahead. if it was a weekend then i might think about coming along.

i was thinking along the lines of petrol. my car only does about 250 miles to a tank and thats about £40. so that would be £80 plus any other driving needed up there so lets say £100 just for a weekend of driving and thats not including money to buy lots of pepsi and other stuff dont really need. :D :D :D

Danno13
04-10-2007, 10:38 PM
LOL.. i don't really mind.. i do 200miles odd every month to attend NADJ meetings in several regions.. so travelling doesn't bother me!

Couldn't we tie the meet in with the BPM show thats on next month?

KMA... 240 miles to £40??? Thats ridiculous... my van is more efficient than that! What on earth do you drive?

Just to throw a quick idea into the works.... :P

There's another speaker showdown being arranged for February in Coalville, Leicestershire at the usual place... Was a big sucess last year...

Basically during the day there's just loads of different makes of speakers from all budgets being demo'd and different combinations of subs / tops and different brands being tried then in the evening it's one big Drink in the pub...

The good thing about coalville is the travel lodge, large function room and PUB restaurant are all on the same grounds so once you arrive you don't have to drive anywhere!

The speaker side of things only takes up a couple of hours and the rest is great socialising.... Not to mention the after party in one of the rooms
