DMX channals help

hi, ive got a pair of dynamos and want 2 buy a geni dm-4 controller


but what channals do they both need 2 be on for it to work?

Ive got Four Dynamos, and have my Dip switches set like this, as recommended by Graham H on this Forum. They are amazing when run in this format.

head 1 - dipswitch 1 DOWN
head 2 - dipswitches 2,3 and 10 DOWN
head 3 - dipswitches 1,2 and 3 DOWN
head 4 - dipswitches 2,3 and 10 DOWN

Not sure how it will look with just 2 heads though? Give it a go.

Why don't you SEARCH the forum.. i'm sure it has been covered lots of times.. or maybe just go and learn a bit about dmx... by reading around both the internet & the forum.

Use the forum search facility. The questons you're asking has been covered many times before. Constantly repeating yourself won't do yourself any favours. The members are here to help in any way they can, but there comes a point where none of us like repeating ourselves over and over. Please use the search facility. Because I don't have the time to a) look up the bits I need to about your lights OR sit here and write it out. My spare time is limited, and I'm not going to waste it helping somone who is darn right rude to be quite honest.

One of the reasons why people are not keen to help; is your attitude.
The second reason is because what you asked a while back shows you have absolutely no knowledge of DMX at all.

That is why I gave you all the links to read up on it.. AND show you how to work out the dip-switches.

Why don't you be a bit grateful and grow up.

But seriously.. What he is trying to get at.. i pressume.. is that it's always good to concentrate on a number of angles.. (obviosuly)

Whilst it's great to work on your lights.. you also need to remember to keep reviewing your music etc. a multi - angled approach :-)

well to be fair, connecting a light to another light via a dmx cable does not mean anything about DMX. others will tell you if im wrong but DMX is about controlling the lights and designing light shows. telling the lights what to do to suit the mood.

It wasn't really a serious suggestion, as all but 3 of my gigs this year are at my residency, which involves a 20 min setup and...no lights lol.

If people are geuninly intersted, I'd be happy to let people tag along next year sometime when I've got some suitable gigs lined up!

4:GOBO/colour

do i out dip switches 1,2,3 and 4 on on both of the the dynamos?

if it is to run via a controller, then no.
Set light one to address 1, Dip switch 1, set light 2 to 17 dip switch 1 and 16 on, and so on if your controoler is 16 channel
