I've heard that hard drive controllers can sometimes have problems with speech marks (such as commas, full stops, inverted commas, hyphens etc) when they're included in song titles on artists names.
I was therefore wondering if it's worth removing them.
What do you think?

No problems with any of the above on the HD2500, it even accepts umlauts

D2 had a few problems interpreting them in earlier versions of firmware - usually displayed gobbledegook (sp? :o ) but still played the file OK.
All sorted now in latest fw.
