Yep, we haven't purchased the tickets, yet, but my wife (Jo), the kids (Josh & Bekkah) and myself will be heading Old Blighty-wards sometime in the second week of April. Likelihood is that we'll have 2-3 days in LA, en route, to do the Disneyland thing (and maybe Universal Studios, too).

So, with only six months to go I kinda need to knuckle down and get a few things sorted, like finishing my new database and getting work and so on. So I'll need to be a little more disciplined about use of time, especially posting on here when I should be doing just about anything else.

Once in the UK I'm likely to be quite mobile to begin with as I don't expect that work will be pouring in, or anything, so I'll be catching up with friends about the place - if it happens that I can include working with anyone here over that time, so much the better - I have friends and family in Chatham, London (Canada Water and Kilburn, I think), Leeds, Hull, Oxford and Bristol. Though we'll be settling in (or, more likely, near) Bath.

Yes, I know, and that's how I justify it, too... but when it's to the detriment of, for example, coming up with my short-list of jazz/swing songs for a background set in about 10 days, it's not so clever.

And I can do all the networking and information sharing I need with two log-ins per day as opposed to the half-dozen or more that I am presently.

And given that I'm now on my third for the day I'm already failing :( That said I HAVE got Jimmy Smith 'Chicken Shack' playing (having just finished playing a whole tonne of Nina Simone) :D

But as you say, if you Brits are to be believed it wouldn't matter when I arrived, it would be raining. But of the last 5 weeks that I've spent in the UK (in two separate stays), I've experienced one and a half days of rain.

I wouldn't say we've had that much rainfall this year, well, not up here anyway. It's been quite a pleasant year so far weather-wise, no heatwaves, not too wet and cold either.
