I heard a pair of Brooke 1115 Pro bass bins at the weekend and I must say I havent heard bass like that in a long time.

They are rated at 700w RMS each and believe me they thumped like nothing on earth.

Has anyone else heard of them or any experience of them.

I'd be curious to find out what drivers they have in them because at £275 each I am really considering a setup of 4 of them and 2 tops

i have heard that the bass bins are really somthing but the tops are not all that and need a lot of eq'ing.

im not sure what drivers they use but as there are a bandpass design (i think) then tney might eat up drivers if run at rull all the time.

if im right with a bandpass design you cant hear any distortion untill its to late when there no sound at all. maby some kinds of protection would be needed???

i have asked question about these before on here and other places and no one really likes them (in there opinion). plus the spl is not that high as well. you might have a 700 watts sub but its only about 100db i think at full wack. not much at all really but they do kick hard.

anyway, ill shut up now.

Brooke (available from Impact) is Chinese, however for the price is not too bad. Especially the newer boxes (mid-hi's) which use neodynium magnets - are far better than the older models, which without serious EQ'ing sounded pretty dreadful..

As for the subs we've had some of the 2x18"s 1x15"s and 2x15"s, solid performers, no real complaints thus far. Not bad at all for the money.
