Recommended PA Speakers

Hi Folks

I work for an Audio Visual company by day and the buisness have just purchased about 6 sets of the Yamaha STAGEPAS 500 Portable PA system

I have to say if anyone is looking for small compact pa speakers for speeches or conferencing I would recommend these and they are really loud.
The cool thing about these speakers is that on the rear of one of the speakers it has a removable 10 channel mixer.
The other handy part is that underneath the lockable mixer is a compartment for mics and leads to be stored.

Yes, both Daz and myself (and Steve?) use the PAS300 for conference work, good little workhorse.

I have to say that I thought the 500 was very overpriced in comparison to the 300s though.

I've got 2 sets of 300s and think they are a fab little system for background music and speeches.

I cannot speak for the 300's as I have never heard them although Jamie, Daz and Steve use them.
We use the 500's and they would be perfect for speeches and conferences even in another room as they are a portable PA unit (Just add a mic). ;)

I didn't know whether you were talking about linking it to the main system or not?

It is suitable for background music and speeches etc, but being a small driver, there isn't much bass.

ohh. sorry. i ment as a seperate system just for wedding breakfast. dont see the point of having a large pa system when all you want is somthing to break the silence.

No they have a mixer in the back of one which links to 2 passive speakers.

No, there's a powered mixer with it.
