Sorry but i have another question or shall i say a few.

Right i have come accross these mid/top speaker. Its called the Porn Horn and its not what you think before this thread get deleated.

http://www.proaudioparts.co.uk/pornhorn.asp

Has anyone used these or heard one before??? Just to note that the mid horn has a sealed chamber for the speaker so the box is only just to hold everything in place, not acting a box to produce the sound if you understand me???

i would post a link but i cant because its from another forum but i can pm you the website (if im allowed) so you can see what i mean.

Also are these anygood aswell???

http://www.proaudioparts.co.uk/looneybin.asp

its a void design and a void subwoofer can put in these so basically there void but with out the name and being made by them (in a way)

Porn Horn MKII is an excellent design, will compete with anything on the market. Have a look round on speakerplans for results from a recent soundclash day, and you will find that the porn horn outperformed every other product.

The looney bin is a nice box, basically an upgraded version of the 1850 horn you were interested in. However, there is soon to be a 'Super Looney', which plays lower. I'd be waiting around for that, or if you wanna go the whole hog, Stasys X :D

The Porn Horn is a very nice mid high box, but rather than spend £999 (PAP's price on an assembled Porn Horn MkII) I would say it's worth that bit extra to buy a Stasys 3 MkII.

At the end of the day, unlike Void, the Porn Horn is not a commercial design and a grand a box is a lot of money for something that's probably not going to be rider friendly.

Just my 2p

for jamie - could i use the super looneys with the standard to throw the bass further or wont it work like that

for tony - there £1000 but i was thinking of building the box myself to keep the cost down and with lots of internal bracing so maby that could help with being used on the road, well local gigs that a loud PA. But i dont have thousands to spend on speakers. i need speakers that have very good sound quality but dont cost a small fortune to buy. this would be my first large PA so im not looking at names at the moment but with experance and money from gigs then i would think about buying named brands like Void, Nexo and so on. not to sure about martin though???

As we said in the other thread.. (me and a few others like Will..)
I don't think it is worth building one yourself..

the box has nothing to do with the sound. just hold the flairs in place.

If it helps, it's only the promotion of other mobile disco forums that isn't allowed under the rules, so if you need to refer to something on say, speakerplans, then you can do so (providing it doesn't contain swearing or anything else unsavoury, and what you post is not derogatory or defamatory, etc!)

I have been speaking to him. Just keeping the expensive price away from you lot (even though he has not given me a price yet).

Lets say that what im might spend on speakers would be the same amount of a few dj rigs put together on here. just a rough guess. :( but should be nice and loud :D :D :D

Hi

I have registered today and this is my first post. Im sorry if i break any rules!

I am the first and only person so far to buy the porn horns and they are very nice. Abit pricy though but so sound so good its worth it. In terms of volume i would say there one of the loudest things ive heard.

if you wanted similar volume/sound quality i would say build some horn loaded single 12's or get some to build them if your not that handy with wood. They would come in at around £450 loaded so half the price of the porn.

heres some pics of what i mean

http://www.prosoundworld.com/index_files/Page1479.htm

ps the porn horn would eat the janaudio horns for breakfast! I know ive got some here sitting next to my porn horns!

Horn loaded speakers with teeth that sound interesting?

I did't say the jan stuff was better just a hell of a lot cheaper! and ideal for the first time builder :p
