I was doing some lighting in the club i do bits and bobs for last night. They're doing a series of themed party nights at the moment (Last week was Wild West with a bucking willy, next week is a foam party etc). This week was "Hot Tub Party"....oh yes.

The DJ Booth sits right next to the stage at the same level in the club giving a perfect view of 2x 8 people hot tubs. The company running the outfit provided everything from towels and bikinis to the hot tubs themseleves.

They got 4 girls up, took them off to the changing rooms, and about 10 minutes later...out they came in these bikinis and 2 girls on in each....nice.

Then it was dirty dancing constantly for about 1/2 hour till they swapped and so on. The DJ got so excited, he stripped down to his boxers, frantically searched for a battery for the wireless mic and then went and jumped in with 2 of the girls....who then involved him in their dirty dancing.

Great views to be had by all, well from where I was sitting anyway! Club closed at 2am. Get out of these big tubs finished at 4.30am...rolling them up spiral stairs is not a fun task.

Am I the only one who thinks that this is particularly sad?

What decade are we in now?

I just think it's sad that grown men have to get their kicks like that. If you want to look at women with no clothes on, have the balls to go to a strip club.

Plus it's sexist

I agree with your comments Double Decks.......i am 100% man.
I think it's how you get to that stage that i made the comment.
This has been booked......would i pay?? No.
Would i go...'No'

If i went into a pub and a stripper'a'gram came in.....would i look 'Yes'.....
Would i go to the pub that i knew had a stripper'a'gram coming in .....'No'

:)

.... and sexism works both ways! It was your assumption Dave that the 'sexism' was against the females..... whereas as far as I'm concerned, if either sex treats the other as a piece of meat, it's sexism!

Sorry, but why do we always get the PC do gooders brigade in as soon as something like this is mentioned?

If they were all OK with what was going on and wanted to participate, then where's the problem?

Yeah...thanks Darren.

Guys this was just a little bit of fun....it's not as if anyone wasn't wearing less than a bikini....

Everyone who ended up in the tubs were punters, who wanted to "have a go"....the "dirty" dancing wasn't a requirement, they did that on their own accord.

Lighten up a little.

I agree Daz.
But to me it's just tacky...not being PC-i'm far from PC but, as you said, if everyone was happy about it fine........:)
My opinon....

Just not my thing....

Mine either, but then if I'm not interested and it doesn't affect me, then why should it bother me?

I'll assume that was directed at me as my comment was the first to criticize this "concept".

As far as PC goes, I'm just about this side of Bernard Manning as you well know. It had nothing to do with being PC or not, I just find the whole thing incredibly sad (not to say slightly idiotic). However it certainly doesn't bother me, other than feeling mildly sorry for the participants.

Come on guys,

Its a nightclub, they are all about getting drunk and having fun... Most nightclubs around here are all about having fun... my local Baja beach club runs events like this all the time, great for business and socialising too.

i agree sounds like a lot of harmless fun and far from being sad, i would say sad would be sitting in the house watching tv, while this was going on down the road....personally i would have loved it......coz i love dirty dancing....lol

All I can say is, if the replies on this thread are indicative of the society we live in, well............

Oh why bother, everything is so dumbed down these days, I suppose it's only logical that "entertainment" is as well.

These sorts of things have always happened. When I DJed in clubs years ago, we did pretty much the same kind of thing. Nothing's changed.
