View Full Version : Dry ice / fog machine.

Need to hire one for NYE.....couple of questions really.

I've seen one that hold's about 10kg of ice and spits it out as a thick down on the ground type fog (for want of a word)...anyone used one of these??

Dry ice - are there any health and safety issues with this type of fog / haze??

the machine you need is a jem Glaciator X-Stream.Not sure about health and safety with dry ice.

Have not used one but have seen one in action.cost to hire is about £300 +vat per week plus fluid

We are hiring in a couple for a building opening.. getting lots of mac 2ks, 250s and 600s as well :p ... needs to be special though.. seeing as the Royal Marines are coming in from a helo :)

Anyway..
I fully reccomend Stage Electrics.. we use them a lot at college and at the theatre from lighting / effects hire to full show set hire.. and they are great.

To get to the low smoke machine..
Go to..
HIRE -> EFFECTS -> LOW SMOKE EFFECTS -> LOW SMOKE MACHINE -> and here you have the page with the glaciator.

Just noticed theres a Jem low fog 1500 on ebay for sale he had two and the first one sold best offer for £450 couple of hires and you have got your money back worth a thought.

As the seller says a good service and a lick of paint the public are not going to see it and this is a bargain at this price, the new Jem model is £6000 +

Never said it wasn't a bargain.........:)
