non delivery email

Got an email this morning from a client about a Wedding gig--

Used "reply" to send details.

It has now come back --I did enclose an attachment which I made up with some recommendations on it--could the virus checker at wanadoo perhaps have binned it?

We get these a lot in the admin email here Al. I think it means that they've been timed out? Could be wrong though.

It means that the message is too big to be sent through to the receiver.

It happens a lot with yahoo and hotmail/live/msn

Daz, is that in your email box--so do you re send them and see if they go through next time?

This doesnt say its going to try again as some do--cant remember a message before about "content"

As Wanadoo cant read CONTENT:D I wonder if they have rejected the attachment--

or sometimes you get a full mail box--although I would think wanadoo boxes would be like my Yahoo box----massive in size.

I resent without attachment--just pasted the details--fingers crossed;)

Sometimes.. never noticed it for that though.

It seems to be the 'general' message which you get if an email is bounced and thus is not delivered to the recipients server

The main one I see this for is because the email address does not exist.. eg.. if the person making the enquiry spelt the email address wrong.

99% sure this is a duff address or an invalid "relay" address. Maybe the customers 'Reply To' isn't spelled correctly or points to a service that wanadoo won't relay for? Check that the address you see when you hit 'Reply' is the same as the sender address on the original email...

Are you using Outlook? Right-click on the message and click 'Message Options'. Look in the Internet Headers box and you'll see a transcript of the route that the original message took from sender to you... are there any clues in there?

No I NEVER USE OUTLOOK---if your hard drive goes its goodbye emails unless you back up---which is a bit of a pain--

Thats why I now use Yahoo---if Yahoo crashes and loses my emails--
its the end of the world anyway so I wont need them!
