I'm in love! :heart1:  :heart1:

Been playing with my new Ipod Touch today.. it is amazing..
It seems to have anything I need.. music, videos etc etc.. best of all.. built in WiFi... so it is very easy to check my emails etc when i come across a internet connection..

They look very snazzy too..

Ah, but what about the important things in life.... does it let you visit the forum to get your fix from anywhere in the world? ;)

See, call me negative, but these do-it-all gadgets are pretty pants IMO. Yes they can play music - but the quality is
They can play videos, but on a tiny screen, and again, with relatively poor quality.

It amazes me how the very same target market want the latest high definition video technology, yet seem quite content with grainy videos downloaded from the internet onto their two-inch mobile phone screens

urm......
have you seen the ipod touch?
The quality is pure amazing..

sorry for going off topic but its like the the sony ericsson

http://www.techfresh.net/wp-content/uploads/2007/07/k850_1.jpg

they claim its got DVD like quality pon the screen but would you really want to watch a full movie in such a small screen. also it has a 5mp camera.

Why. really. if you want to take pictures then buy a realy camera. i know people are going to say well what happens is you need a quick shot of somthing, my reply is buy a camera. i mean yes, i have the blackberry. theres nothing special really on the phone apart from accessing the internet but most phone can do that these day now anyway. it does the job that i wanted it for. lots of call minutes, loads of texts and plenty of internet usage to check my email for bookings.

rant over. and relax..

yes.
the ipod touch has a sensor in so when you turn it horizontal the display changes.. thus it is wider and easier to read / use with keyboard etc.
Also it is very easy to zoom in and out. by either seperating your fingers or bringing them together on the screen

guess that could help. the sensor is the same as the new sony ericsson phone

For what they are, I suppose they'd be pretty cool to fiddle about with.

But they're sort of like multi-tool penknifes - yes they have everything on them and they're handy, but they don't stand up to proper screwdrivers, knives etc

no but then you can't slip a PC or a DVD player or a Stereo into your pocket..

You've obviously never used a Leatherman or Gerber multitool

very good point.
I always carry a multitool with me at the theatre.. and it is very very useful.. and does the job when you don't have access to / don't have time for the big boys..

A bit like a ipod touch.. great for when you don't have your PC with you..

Nope, but then I can say with no uncertainty that job-specific tools will out-perform them. It's hardly a level playing firld though, is it?

thats not the point though is it.

You cant always carry the big stuff around with you.

Eg. you have a small one that can do lots of stuff.. at high quality.. the can slippp into your pocket.

Maybe it isn't as good as say a pc... but it does the job in relation to the convenience of its size

I know that, I never disputed that aspect of it.

See, I think you're contradicting yourself a bit there. OK, I don't doubt that it's the best thing if you're travelling, for example, but if you're just kicking about in the house with it - that's where I start to question it's purpose.

I mean, I'm sure that my PC will play music at a much higher quality, and there is no doubt that my hi-fi will. The same goes for video playback, ease of use, and feature set.

But as I said, because it's portable, it is a useful thing to have, depending on your lifestyle.
