Ok, so I'm doing a bit of renovating and would like to buy a home cinema system.

Looking at a denon system 5.1, but I'm also looking for good music sound quality and good bass for DJ monitoring :

I was thinking of changing the two front speakers supplied with the system to monitors or will the standard supplied speakers sound good enough?

Cheers

That believe it or not is what I paid for my Sanyo system (dvd player with surround sound) from shopelectric. I think that was about 6 years ago. The speakers with mine are small round ones (not much bigger than the cones) and I am quite happy with the sound quality from them. Therefore I reckon the Denon should sound great. I would upgrade mine except for two reasons Firstly mine has a radio and I haven't found another one yet that does. Secondly, I would like to get one that you can set up different sound profiles on. I found that what sounds good for films or tv doesn't sound quite right for cd or radio. And finally (thats 3 reasons), I cant afford to at the moment.:)

Seeing as you're redecorating at the moment. I have my speakers in each corner of the room And the centre speaker above the Living room window (centred obviously). Instead of having the wires running down the walls, I put up coving and ran them behind that. The only unsightly bit is where the wires come out above the tv but then I have them hung over the curtain pole so they run down behind the curtain.
