the first chap with the Skytec amp. How did he pay that much for it in the first place ? & does he think that it will only have depreciated £100 in 5 years?

The first one makes me laugh.

Firstly he has pictures, but no listing for the equipment he is selling.

Check out that meaty amp - 100 watts rms per channel, and that's probably into 4 ohms, in which case it will be about 65 watts per channel into 8 ohms.

If he REALLY paid over £2,400 for that stuff, then they saw him coming!

sad thing is there's probably people out there that would buy it thinking it was a great set-up and worth that money... and think it's as easy as buy the kit and a few cd's and whey... they are a DJ..

In #1, I can see that fish-tank would be a bit of a pig to move around especially in the back of a van with all the other kit. And what about the poor fish? Nah, not for me I'm afraid. Maybe without the tank.... :D

In #2. maybe I've been getting it wrong all these years but erm, aren't those scanners mounted upside down? Great for lighting up the roof I would've thought...

i'm sure if they put all the different items on with no res.. collectively they would make a lot of money.. but to sell a full rig is stupid.

It looks like on pic #2 that the light is hanging from the lampshade!

He'd have been much better splitting it, would probably sell most of it seperately.

I'd be interested in the scanners and DMX controller but going on his prices, maybe not.

Indeed, the only time we've bought a full rig off ebay (it was abigger system than either of these, with about 20 or so lighting effects & 40 ft of lighting truss) including a trailer. It was all 6 months (or less) old & some was still in unopened boxes & unused. It's value new was between 15 & 20 grand. We got it for £5000 (the second hand market value for the trailer!)

More entertaining than the BBC news:D :D :D

Quote ----------I am very sad to see this equipment go. I have built this up from from 1 single light to a Full Set- Up.

So how do you start running a mobile disco with a single light then;)

I see the second one has a bid of £1,500

However, it's from someone who only joined ebay within the last 30 days.

Lucky I'm not an old cynic, or I MIGHT think the bid was from the seller themselves...having set up a second account & bid on their own item to try & get the price up!

This time of year though all the christmas DJ's are looking in to the market and they just want to buy the whole lot and not have to think to much. That rig may be over priced but the gear would do small to medium bookings with no problems. And looks pretty neat as well, stick a star cloth up front and would not look out of place. Mind you the asking price is a bit made up by someone in a dream world. I would offer £500 tops and I would consider that a fair price for second hand of those makes. I recently sold a load of gear, more than he is selling to a local second hand shop and got peanuts for it and it was much better gear.

And more importantly, how can he call it "top of the range"?
