I bought my ones today also.Have to say they are much better than i thought they would be.they look big but infact are really lightweight.Patterns and colours are amazing.Look forward to seeing more of the new led lights.

Well they have dont it again,, the award for this seasons must have lighting effect goes to the .......ACME IMPOSSILED (impossibled). At first glance it might look a bit dodgey,, but this is going to take you by storm when you see it working, it was our favourite new effect from acme at dj show north. You can link them together as master and slave and create a stunning effect. IF YOU ONLY BUY ONE NEW LIGHT THIS YEAR, MAKE SURE ITS THIS!!!! Again it cant go wrong and you can use it all night long, because it has no moving parts, a great advantage we think. But dont be fooled into thinking if ithas no moving parts the light beams will be stationary, this thing fills the room with moving light. lets say Acme have achieved the impossible with the impossiled....

Features

DMX channels: 10 & 4 selectable
Thousands of pre-programmes
Sound activated, Master/Slave and DMX modes
Strobe and 0 - 100% dimmable
Low heat and low power consumption
No duty cycle

Me neither, but there seems to be a lot of companies saying they have products 'in stock' when they don't, and it's much easier to give a cheaper price when you know you don't have any stock. ;)

After ordering 4 of these lights from Phase1 in Darlington in early August I finally took delivery of them last Thursday.

I DMX them up together in Master and Slave mode and control them with the SC8 controller and all I can say is the result is simply mind blowing, the intensity of the colours is rich and powerfull and look great in a room with or without a smoke/haze machine.

Did'nt get chance to video them over the weekend but intend to do just that this week and post the result in the forum.

I paid £515 for the four lights which included PAT testing, DMX cables, SC8 controller and delivery which I thought was a great deal (Cheers Mike)

yes, the light is ace, the manual is pants. One thing I can't figure - on my unit, you select the show 1-12, but once 10 seconds have elapsed, you can't change the show number without going in to the menu again, which turns the light off. Anyone found a way round this? I realise show "0" cycles through all the other different shows, but it would be nice to just use the up-down buttons to quickly select an individual show without going in to the menu.

As I say, the manual is almost no help at all.

I must admit after watching all your videos on this site and on youtube as well as the ones on the websites selling the product im starting to lose intrest in this light. after a while it looks boring and a bit dim compared to some twister style lights.

Vectis

Well I still think the one I have is a great addition as a centrepiece to my show. Previously I relied on a pair of datamoons for 'middle-of-the-dancefloor' effects and movement, now I can supplement them with the impossibled. I tend to use the LED light for disco classics, 60's-80's music, and the moons at other times.

I use a CA8 with mine, and let the thing go sound-to-light. There's not really a concept of "Slow & Fast" unless you fully DMX the thing although some of the pre-programmed sequences are more fluid than others if that helps  :p

I use mine with this lot for kids parties:

Pair of Stormbirds (sound-to-light)
Pair of Dynarolls (CA8 sound-to-light)
Couple of lasers (sound-to-light)
Laserball
Pair of loopytubes (StL)
Starcloth (StL)

ImpossibLED stays on all night; I change the program from time to time.

And with this lot for weddings etc.
Set of 4 Dynamos (DMX)
Pair of Dynarolls (DMX)
Up to 4 lasers (some StL, some DMX), sparingly
Pair of loopytubes (StL)
Pair of Datamoons (handheld DMX controller)
Up to 4 moving heads (DMX)
Laserball
Mirrorballs
Starcloth (StL)

ImpossibLED is used for floor infill during dancy tracks. For slower stuff I'll typically use just mirrorballs lit by heads or mirrorballs plus datamoons on slow-rotate.

When you use the CA-8, press the bottom button and the red led will come on. You can then use the middle button to scroll through the different programmes or shows.

If you leave the button unpressed so that the red led isn't on, it will say show '0' and will automatically scroll through the different shows.
