I don't know quite where to post this, so I'll let the mods decide if it needs moving...


Please lend your support to this fantastic idea...More holidays means more parties, yes?

not really the right reason to sign it tbh but understand where you are coming from ... my mum lived in fuerteventura and apparently over there they have about 20 bank holidays a year some midweek?????? things apparently just stop.

There is already a rememberence day.

This is just an excuse to have a day off.

Yep, I don't see the point in bank holidays at all to be honest, and there's already 5 in a year?

Bank Holidays are OK if you are PAYE, if your Self Employed, it's yet another days money lost.:(

Why? If you're self employed you can choose to work on a bank holiday....

Yep, I don't see the point in bank holidays at all to be honest, and there's already 5 in a year?

I believe we currently have about 8 bank holidays in a year.

However, the that's still less than most other countries in Europe, and we also work longer hours...so I'd say that's a pretty good case for increasing the number of bank holidays we have.

For me personally, it makes no difference whether we have one bank holiday a year or 20.

Most bank holidays are on Mondays & I do a pub quiz on Mondays. I could easily say I won't work on bank holidays, but that means I'd lose hundreds of pounds a year, so I do a quiz night every Monday whether it's a bank holiday or not.

I even did one on new year's day this year!

16 holidays and plenty of manarna.......:D

Have to agree with Rob there and why not a day of respect....they earnt it...so why can we not respect that??? :)
