Hi guys Im looking at creating a new html navigation bar for my site as the one i have as standard is quite pants and i want some proper buttons on there ? can anyone tell me how to do this in thickie terms please ?? is it majorly difficult or is there a way it can be done simply?

keep your eyes open cos the slightly earlier versions are often freebies on magazine covers.

IMHO the best thing to do is use CSS Rollovers (see here (http://www.webcredible.co.uk/user-friendly-resources/css/rollover-buttons.shtml) for a tutorial).

You get the rollover effect but without image preload problems, and as long as you're only doing a single level menu (i.e. no submenus etc) it's fairly easy. Your "button" is actually one image, half displayed normally, and the other half displayed on mouseover. Any text included in the "buttons" will aso be readable by search engines, which is another advantage over graphic only navigation.

ok ive had a go .... asked tony to look and its not come up on his how it should look ...... this is what i get ....

also put a new slideshow in the gallery which apparently Tony Cant see properly?? any suggestions welcome.

Dave--Nothing showing here on the buttons--looks like you need to get them on your ftp page properly.

Its like those ads you get from Maplins--all the pictures are missing :eek:

Cant find ANYTHING on your site at the mo. THE BUTTONS ARENT THERE.

Better get it sorted--could be costing you gigs.

I wouldn't have used PNG's as the file format, JPGs or GIFs would have been faster loading, and earlier versions of IE have problems with PNGs (although I think that's only the transparency).
