Hi people, hope you are all well.
I have a gig at a Ty Kwon Do club for there presentation night/ christmas party. Do you think that i should play Kung FU Fighting for a bit of fun, or do you think that they would take it the wrong way.
Thanks.

I should add that there will be young children there also, and i thought that they might like it, even though some of them might not have heard it before.

See how the night progresses and use your skills to read the crowd! If they are a good crowd and up for a laugh, then you can play it later on.

Wo-ho-ho......Wo-ho-ho-ho :bang:

Maybe you could also play:

I Get a Kick Out of You (Sinatra)
or
Teenage Kicks (Undertones)
or
Saturday Nights Alright for Fighting (Elton)
or
Jenny From the Block (Lopez)

:D :D

I guess the one occasion you will want to avoid contact with the crowd ??

Good Luck

I don't see why you shouldn't. I've played Village People - In the Navy & Stiff Little Fingers - Tin soldiers to a room full of squaddies before now & walked away unscathed.

My other half is a 2nd Dan (two up from black belt) in Taekwondo. If you really want to play it speak to the Master (instructor) first and see what he says. Taekwondo is a very disciplined art form and those who are not so easy going may think you ar taking the micky out of the art form. My other half said she would bot be bothered herself, but others might.

might be wrong but in this country im not sure Ty Kwon Do carries the same thuggish animosity in the rivalray that football does thus not really a good comparison.

might be wrong but in this country im not sure Tae Kwon Do carries the same thuggish animosity in the rivalray that football does thus not really a good comparison.

My point was that if you play a poorly chosen anthem you can get your head kicked in by a mob of angry footballers, in the case of Tae Kwon Do enthusiasts there need only be one to take umbrage at what they perceive as mickey-taking (not rivalry) as they have the ability to do some serious damage.

With that ability is supposed to come responsibility, but that this not always the case.

True martial arts enthusiasts tend to be very into it as a lifestyle, rather than just as a sport or pastime.
