Haven't played 'Jump' in aaaages, and have never played ZZ Top before as far as I can recall... maybe once.

I'm keen to know if any of those strike anyone as being off for a crowd of English rockers... cheers.

Fleetwood Mac - they were big fans (and so were there guests it turns out)

Faith No More - given that FNM covered 'Easy' as a joke response to their own cover of Black Sabbath 'War Pigs' on their first album, playing 'Easy' to Faith No More fans would be akin to playing Crazy Frog 'Axel F' when someone asked for trance ;) I even avoided playing it duuring background music opting for 'Evidence' instead.

Queen - I played Crazy Little Thing straight after the first & second dances to get things moving, and I didn't play 'Bohemian Rhapsody' as they had both indicated a stronger preference for dancing than sing-alongs.

In the case of Queen I think any of these are usually pretty safe with a 'rock' crowd: Bohemian Rhapsody, Radio Ga Ga, I Want to Break Free, Another One Bites the Dust, I Want It All, Crazy Little Thing Called Love, We Will Rock You, Under Pressure (with David Bowie), A Kind of Magic, Fat Bottomed Girls.

She sells sanctuary Cult, last resort Papa Roach, Wheatus teenage dirt bag, teenagers Mychemical romance. old favorites Paranoid Black Sabbath any rainbow Boston more than a feeling, Dont fear the reaper Blue oyster cult, dont stop believin Journey. Nice to see people still like rock love playing it .

Yep, I love playing rock, too, but I actually find that it's easy to get it wrong. Despite being requested by the client an earlier set that included '(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction' and 'Black Night' and later a guest request for 'Enter Sandman' got no traction on the dancefloor :confused:

My wife has just discovered that she likes 'Immigrant Song' thanks to the ads for the Zeppelin Mothership ads on TV :D

I don't see why a Rock Night at a golf club wouldn't work, especially if you started with The Beatles, The Stones and such and worked your way up to G'n'R and Zep :D

Stop the music, make some announcement or other, and then play your preferred Queen track :D

I agree. 'Don't Stop Me Now' works most of the time, but it's a bit stop-start, so it depends on the crowd.
