Enjoyed my day at the show, although I spent a lot of time in the car park wheeling and dealing.

Met Darren, nice guy, seened totally different to his persona on here:p

Saw an attractive lady with him at one point (actually thought she was lost as I was not sure she was actually with him or if he was just stalking her) and when reading another thread after I got back I realised that it was probably Angela, if so, sorry I didn't introduce myself, at least then you would have known who you have had had to admonish at times in the past (repented soul now).

Really enjoyed the Derek Pengelly seminar, but by that time (4pm on Sunday), the masses had left and he only had about a dozen or so listeners.

As I said, I really enjoyed it and look forward to the next big DJs meet.

me and Tone enjoyed the day ....... took me a while to adjust to actually looking at the dj stuff though ........

some good stuff on show great lighting and nice sound stuff .... im still yet to be convinced about this led stuff yes i know it is the future but im just not sure its there yet.

Yes, that was Angela, Eddie, my fault for not introducing her.

I think a good day was had by most people. It was too loud in places and should have been regulated - I think that was a fairly common opinion. I was impressed by a set of Martin Audio cabs that I heard - very nice.

Met up with Dragonfly, Penmare, Jamie, Vibrant, Danno, James H (who is threatening to subscribe!!!), Danno, Mike Moore, DJ Forgie, Kilmeedyman and the NADJ welsh assembly, as well as a load of members of another forum, who we went drinking with 'till the early hours.

A good time was had by all.

Show wasn't as big as I had hoped, but still worth the effort to meet a few people.

Might be due to the fact that they couldn't really demo due to the high noise levels. Andy from Bose was busy arranging private demos for people.

so they couldnt demo the bose system because all the other systems on show were so loud that you couldnt hear it??? and you had to be in a room on your own with it to get the full effect ? :zip: :zip: :zip: :zip: :zip:

I was at Music Live BIRMINGHAM NEC --same problem loads of sound systems AND musicians all competing against each other. All pretty pointless really.

Although I did sit in on a session on how to make a reggae record on a laptop not run by a dreadlocked person but by some chap from Poland I think doing the demo:D :D :D Go figure---

This wasnt because I love Reggae--its ok--but it was held next to the cafe where you could sit down:D

The HK system sounded nice--so nice that it all got nicked the next day from a van as reported on here:eek:

I heard the Bose there--spoke to the rep--not too impressed when he did the demo-- although I have used one (courtesy of Clive) and the quality on a real live gig was impressive.

Me too.... and stupid business phone calls at 9.30am as i forgot to turn it off... not to mention the early morning wake up call from forum people looking for a lift to go and get their car from the centre of town!!!

As soon as i got back to redditch i went straight back to bed!!! Woke up at 11am this morning with my family asking what happened lol...

Agreeing with a lot of the things that have been said already - yes, a lot of talking went on in the car park - easier to talk out there! Everyone competing sound-wise made it rather difficult to talk to exhibitors inside, and all of them were complaining about being hoarse (including me by the end of the day), and yes please Jamie.... I wish someone would introduce some of the exhibitor to haze machines - the smoke was so thick in the morning/early lunchtime that you couldn't see as far as the next stand!!!

Still, a not bad for a first attempt and hopefully something they can build upon.

For those of you I did meet and speak to - nice to put a few new faces to forum handles, and nice to see some others I already knew :D
