Hi all
am i right in thinking that to mix songs on the comp (mp3s ect) then all i need is to have some software on the comp for the cueing ect and just have a lead from the comp to one of my channels on the mixer?

Would it just be from the audio out/speaker staringht to a channel input and select the right correct one on the channel?

Phone jack to RCA cable?

Also what sampleing rate is recomended for the Mp3s ,

Pretty much, yes! :)

There are a lot of packages out there and most offer free trial versions - you should download a few with a budget in mind. Personally I use OTS Turntables and OTS AV.

You can just connect the headphone out socket to your mixer and for testing this is perfectly adequate, but you might want to buy a higher quality external soundcard, especially if you intend ditching the mixer as you'll need several channels for cueing and mic input etc. From £20 upwards.

MP3s ideally ought to be ripped at 320Kbit/s CBR for maximum quality and future compatibility, but anything from 192K upwards sounds pretty good.

Cheers, atleast that was one thing i sort of had an idea about.

I did have a mess about with Virtual DJ a while back but i couldnt find how to change the crossfader curve settings ect
