I played on both before buying virtual DJ......reasons were:
On vdj....you've got visual sound....so you can see if a track has got a quiet or slow intro or ending
I found vdj to be altogether more aesthetically pleasing and visual. At the end of the day I think they are both good....but vdj suits me!

I used PCDJ Red, VRM and FX over about 4 years and thought it was very good for music playback.
I now use VDJ as I am starting to get into Video and visuals. You can also use it for karaoke and £ for £, I reckon it's the best value.

I use PCDJ Blue VRM, it's suitable for my needs. I've not tried the other one

yes...that was the other reason....its so easy to do karaoke on vdj. you can pop them into a side list....if someone doesn't get to the mic in time....or not at all...its dead easy. Its the only system I've used where i can do karaoke and disco totally seamless for the whole evening

You can use the karaoke plug in with PCDJ, but when I bought it it was an extra £80 I think and you only get one deck, whereas VDJ uses both decks for karaoke, so it's definatley easier.

Having Considered PCDJ Red & Virtual DJ I opted for Virtual DJ , the main reason is, it was more money (and I prefered the layout). I know more money may sound a little strange but I've found in the past that £ for £ GENERALLY, you pay more and get more reliable professional equipment.
You could also download the free trials and decide for yourself, both of them are available (that's what I did) although some features may be disabled on the trials.
When it comes down to software, it's a very personal thing (you ask which operating system people prefer and watch the replies - second thoughts, don't). Hope this helps.

having worked with most of the digital dj systems over the years, being a gadget freak and having too much time to play i finally settled on vdj because it has exactly what i need at the gig, music, video and karaoke which can be easily integrated in to one show. the waveform display gives visual clues on exactly how your track leads in and out even if its a new track. i use it with the dac 3 and although there are a few technical issues with the latest release, i now use it at every gig.

wow never realised we had so many VDJ converts over on the forum :D These days i don't even have to say my piece on it.... :D

Yep i 100% agree.... but not only music and karaoke but videos and visuals too...
The way i do karaoke with virtual DJ is set all my filler music/video tracks for the evening into the playlist and then hit automix... (with the automix set to keep the beginning and endings so it just fades from one to the next song)...
Then any time people come up with a karaoke track they want to sing i add them into the side list (even though it's at the bottom :P)... And because automix runs off one deck (V5.0 and above) it means there's always one deck free to be able to load the karaoke track in - when i choose to....
Then when ready i just turn off automix call up the singer and press play on the deck that the karaoke song was loaded to.... Then once they have performed their track i press the automix button again which starts the filler music/video tracks once more and continues to mix it's way through the playlist....
That way it always ensures you have a player for the karaoke ready and stops you having to worry about juggling music tracks all night as well as host and organise all the karaoke side of things...
