Nightmare of a venue

Well tonight i am just leaving to go and work at what has to be one of the worst venues for dj acess.For those of you who know its the Queensferry Hotel by the Forth Bridge.

You have to get your gear out of the van into the lift take lift up to second floor come out lift walk along the corridor and set up the disco at the other end of the function hall.

The view that you get from the big windows is amazing (right over the forth bridges).Looks good but who ever designed this did not give a :Censored: about us dj entertainers and how we will gain access into the function hall!

The Sunborne Yatch Hotel is similar. The lift is quite small, you can squeeze in 2 people and a trolley of gear. So you need 2 or 3 trips minimum.

But it's not the worst I've ever had. The 2nd floor in Gerrard Street was evil. No vehicle access to road and no lift. Stairs very narrow as well. :bang:


Just be thankful for the lift.

sounds like my favourite venue in ilkeston ramp upto lift .... up tp second floor .... across the landing .... up another flight of stairs ...... right to the far corner of the function room to set up

I've played there several times, it's definitely a killer for load in/out, I feel your pain Gary. Last time I played there I took an extra roadie and charged accordingly.

we had an enquiry through the other week for a royal sun alliance xmas party on the mersey ferries

now i don't know if anyone has ever been on the mersey ferries, you have to walk down a 300m steep ramp, ok not so bad walking down, but can you imagine carting the bass bins back up???

we quoted her £350 form 7-12:30 and guess what? 'oh it's out of our budget'

Suffering with a sore back after last nights gig.The disco finished at 1 but i never left the car park untill 2.15 am.Next time that i get an enquiry for that venue i will definatley have to charge extra and tell the customer why!
