Props on karaoke.

Does anyone use any props when doing Karaoke?

I use inflatable guitars for those Embarrasing Instrumental bits, when the punters stand there and think it's hilarious that they sing the word "instrumental" over and over.

Anybody got any more suggestions?

What about some kind of clap-o-meter?

Not surre how it would be made, but it might be fun.

I use inflatable guitars too & find they also help to encourage singers up 'cos they divert attention & embarassment during the 'awkward bits'.

A clappometer can easily be adapted from a commercial decibel recorder and some of the better ones can also offer an on-screen display.

A simply sound level monitor from Maplin for about 50 quid would give you a reading you could use.

I don't use props but I do try to get many people involved in different ways. I've thought of props but never needed them and also it adds yet another box to the loading and unloading of an already growing arsenal of kit.
