Yeah, they looked like they were saving themselves by playing a nearly full strength team.

Reading aren't in the Champions league and I doubt whether Liverpool will be after this week either.. They got promoted to the Premier league last season through hard work, not through spending millions of pounds to get them there and keep them there.

It is a proud day as we have never beaten any of the 'big 4' before.

It's a shame that some people can't be pleaed for us.

I'm surprised it took you that long to post, Darren! I do think Liverpool had one eye on the Champions League, but there can be no excuses. They genuinely have a squad, not just a team, that can compete for the Premiership now - so why are they shifting their efforts into the Champions League?

The Liverpool 2nd team are probably valued at more than the Reading 1st team, so this was a fantastic result for Reading. They may not have mega-bucks star player, but they have hard working, spirited players, who can also play. Believe me, as a Rangers fan, I know what I'm talking about, because we are in the same situation in the Champions League!

yes we do have a squad ....... but I don't think it's a squad good enough to operate a rotation system ie. To my mind Torres and Crouch are goal scoring strikers ....... the same cannot be said of Voronin and Kuyt???

But the point of smilies is so that people can work out the 'feeling' behind the words. If you are talking to people face-to-face or even on the phone you can hear the emotion in people's voices. When it's the written word, it can be very hard to work out whether or not someone is joking or not.... hence the need for a smilie - otherwise it is assumed you are serious.
