I hope you are all well.

Just popped in to say I had possibly one of the best parties ever yesterday :D

It was almost in Bournemouth (Ringwood) for an 8yr old.

236 mile round trip was it worth it - God yes, picked up several enquiries but the thing that suprised a lot of the adults was how come I travel so far to do a Children's party
(in fact it took longer to get there than it did to do the party :eek: lol)

But it was fantastic, and the thing that was mentioned to me was how different my show was to the standard disco's that the children have had in the past.

So my advice chaps is - If you do Children's Parties "Be Different"

Mayhem, I have suspected this for a long time, but now there is concrete proof that you are certifiable! :eek: :D :D

As someone who does such functions with one eye on the clock, and the thought that within 30 minutes I can be partaking of some well earned muscle relaxant, all I can say is: :bowdown: :bowdown: :bowdown: :thumbsup:

I love doing kids parties but sometimes find the financial rewards do not justify the work and effort needed. A 2 hour kids party, i find, is harder than a 5 hour disco and not sure about everyone else but find I have to charge minimum amounts.

Like you though Mayhem I find whenever I do a kids party I get other enquiries, one of which led to a good residency in a hotel near home.

I agree with you though you have to 'be different'. I have a grand finale which always gets commented on and generates more bookings

Hi Mayhem, commitment or what!!! Glad you had a great one!!

I have never done kids parties under the age of 14. I'm always being asked to do them but feel it is a specialised service I know nothing about. I believe very strongly that if you can't do it right then don't do it at all.

I would love to know what makes your show/performance different from the others. This is something I'd like to get into but wont unless I am sure I can do it well.

Any advice welcome from you (the master) or any others that do kids parties. What can you charge for these gigs? :)

I have fallen on a winner too:cool: , did a 13 year olds gig in December last year, since then have done 3 more at the same venue for her friends, and have another 7 coming up, (all class mates), great when a plan comes together;) . Though I will never reach the high standards of mayhem who, going by his posts, pics and vids is a highly professional entertainer, and whats more the public realise this too, well done that man.:beer1: :beer1: :beer1:
