Excellent gig last night.
Local venue to me and it was a charity gig for the Thomas Cook girls, got going on the mic and introduced myself etc etc, Then asked who was going to be the bravest to get on the dancefloor first, From then the floor pumped all night, Cheese, Cheese and more cheese, oh and some Ri Ri, Another great night from Hammy`s.
great gig for me.
The venue was Portsmouth post office club , bit of a carry in , but I did have help.
It was a dual 30th birthday , no playlist this time :D , but a guide to bands they liked , right old cheese fest really.
They had invited around 100 , but only 37 showed up , I work with the birthday boy , so there was plenty of people from work , including my boss and her boss , I was expecting the comment " If you put as much effort into work than you do dj ing" :D
A few on the dance floor all night , finished at 12:20 , broke down, loaded and on my way home at 1:00am , mind you I did have a little help.
First gig with the new set-up , sorry no pics.
No overhead , but an abstract gladiator mounted on each upright , ultimax winch tripod with an EFX in the centre and a Abstract extreme XP5 each side.
A very good night.

we had a poor night last night.
working in a local venue that ive worked in many times before, due to it being a free function room, the clients dont tend to be well off, but ive had a few good gigs there.
It was a mans 30th, on champions league night, as you can imagine, most of the guests spent the first 2 hours of the party in the pub next door watching the game. i was left with about 20 woman & children, none of which were interested in dancing or requesting tunes.
around 9.45pm the room filled up with about 40 drunk 30ish years olds, a couple of whom were far too drunk. One woman in particular kept falling over, twice into the gear, almost knocking a speaker over once.
the night continued with 15 men jumping around on the dancefloor to anything i played, spilling drinks and falling about. no one else would dance.
after the gig, a woman from the bar said they were the worst behaved group she'd seen at a 30th, i had to agree. Not for a long time have i been so pleased to see the end of a gig.
and i missed the football for that!
I had another economy night! Band did background music, First Dance and then a little set, I came on at 9 o'clock and packed the quarter of the dancefloor that didn't have band kit on it for an hour, and then packed down behind the band and disappeared out of the back doors by 10.30pm! Played 18 songs...money for old rope!!
