Had a cracking night with a Queen tribute band - "The Bohemians" www.thebohemians.com/ they were really polished and professional, and the "Freddy" had all the moves down to a tee! I wasn't bad either.
40th birthday at Canterbury Cricket Club last night for a family that I have done lots of work for before (and picked another wedding for next year last night). Lots of 80's soul and a good evening.
Good gig, bad gig, both in one! Turned up at a leisure centre, where I have worked before, it's up a set of stairs, and straight across the room, so minimal gear ( only six speakers Darren ;) ;) ) and no trolleys. I know I should have checked, but now it's park fifty yards away, along a corridor, up in the lift, thirty five yards along another corridor, and across the room. :bang: :bang: Gig itself was great, a handicapped ( can I say that? :confused: ) swimmers club, who were absolutely up for a storming time. :D Come pack up, had loads of help, and all out in twenty minutes. :D Called in at the offy, got something to bring home,was in a great mood then had a terrible time with my broadband provider, which I won't go into detail about, but suffice to say language barriers, and elevated blood pressure were involved. :bang: :bang: :bang: Monday morning, and someone sorts it in five minutes, and it could and should have been done thirty six hours earlier! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad:

My brothers 18th was bad as he was telling me. The DJ got paid £70 for the disco. :eek:. Now I know why I am not geting the booking's as people wish to go for the cheaper dj's who use illegal cd's and habing a very untidy rig. He was using class-d speakers, not sure what ones but my brother said there was no mid range at all?
This really annoys me why these kind of people get the bookings but people like me who play by the rules don't get much at all. :bang:
Of course the bad sound could be down to the way the mixer is set & not the speakers at all :sj:
