It ended horriblly.
First dance was good - 'Chuck Berry - You never can tell' - nice and lively which got everyone involved.
I played simular tunes to keep them on the foor, Dark Clark Five, Beatles, Stones, Jackie Wilson, Manfred Man etc
Then everyone went out for a smoke. Thirty people returned and danced for a couple of hours. At 10.15/30ish a mini bus came and took 20 people away which ruined it.
People started to dribble off and the B&G were no where to be seen. At 10.45pm (I've got 15 minutes left) they come over and ask me to call it a night. They say thank you and I apologise for people leaving...they had been drinking since 11.00am. I said, 'let's be honest, what you did in the Church at 10.00am this morning is the morst important thing. I wish you both the very best.'
I feel like I've cheated them and I certainly wasn't worth 400 squid. £60 sid could have done my job...play some tunes for three hours and then go home for a beer.
I'm tempted to send them some money back but obviously I won't.
I knew this morning it would be a difficult one and I was right.
Hey ho...
Tomorrow night isn't going to be much better...rough part of Nottingham, no requests apart from 'don't mention the Bride's Dad because he doesn't want to come'
