Last night was the 3rd of 3 back to back Weddings and all very different but all enjoyable.
Thursday was an all day Marquee job with the "infamous" fishcake, nuff said :D
Friday was the first time I'd Dj'd at a Polish wedding. I say Polish the Bride was and alot of her family had come over. The groom has a Polish Mum English Dad. Music was all over the shop from muse to Footloose. For the benefit of the Polish guests I'd previously been given a CD of Polish hits ;) . Obviously not speaking Polish ment that it was hit & hope to see if I got them right. I'd listened to them all the day before and had the BPMs so knew roughly what would go with what which did the trick nicely :D
Last nights was a couple that had been throughout the booking process difficult to get hold of to tie things down and it also came with an excel spreadsheet of over 130 tracks :eek: :eek: No requests were to be taken.
Not as scary as it sounds as the "playlist" went from Erasure to Seafood so plenty of scope. 1st dance was Prince "take me with U" which was a new one for me as a 1st dance.
It was running hopelessly late, first dance ment to be at 7.30pm and I think it eventually happened at 9.40pm. Lateness was mainly due to the Bride being an hour late for the ceremony and some monster length speeches.
At one point I played Bananarama "Love in the first degree" (on the playlist) and one guest went proper bonkers to the point of coming up to the booth and lapdancing / pole dancing in front of me :eek: Which was good to know she enjoyed the song but I did feel the need to give out a H&S announcement that "there would be no more Bananrama for Health & Safety reasons....her health and my safety" which got a laugh from the guests :D
With a midnight finished there was no stopping them. nice to finish 3 in a row on a high ;)

I turned up at a wedding to find another dj setting up..I showed him my contact and then he showed me his..I thought strange..
The bride and groom was already there and they could not understand neither, Next thing you knew a balloon lady walked in to decorate the room and guess what? it was already done, So the balloons was double booked as well..To cut a long story short, someone had tried to sabatarge there wedding as some family and friends did not agree with it..This must of cost this person who sabatarge this wedding a lot of money and time..They paid me a deposit and even phoned me up 2 weeks before with play lists etc..I tried the phone number i had been given and it was a died line..I seen the bride was getting very upset so i decided to leave as many other things had happened in the day..In 20 years of Djin its the first time this as happened to me..
