Glad all over(Classic Cuts 54) is a standard part of my 60s set with Mony Mony and Doo wah Diddy , but I don't recall ever playing or being asked to play Running Bear

If that's the film with Hilda Ogden & a Fine young cannibal, then yes...more than once, but that still makes me none the wiser!

I decided it was probably one of those songs that I didn't recognise from the artist or title but would know as soon as I heard it, so I listened to the 30 second preview on itunes, but I can honestly say I don't know the song at all.

Must have passed me by somehow!

This is Mastermix Classic Cuts 54 - Party and it's on there. I'm sure you'll be aware of the Classic Cuts series - maybe it's just one you missed. I'm also sure it's legal as I don't think Mastermix would take the risk of putting out dodgy material.

I also have the same brand compilations for the 70s and 80s. They've been a vital part of my music collection for the past few years.

As for playing sports clubs, they can be (a bit) boisterous functions but they like a good party and pay well so I don't see a problem with them. In fact, I do loads of christmas parties/presentation discos for a wide range of sports clubs and, in all these years, I've had one problem and it was from two gatecrashers. When I explained to the client I was being bothered they were swiftly removed from the building. Apart from that, no other problems.

As for sports club do's I have done loads and they can indeed be rowdy but like you say are usually good fun!

I am a proud cheese-peddling party DJ and the Classic Cuts series plays a major part in my music collection. One of my favourite tracks of the whole lot is My Girl Lollipop by Bad Manners which is also on vol 54. It's worth buying just for that!
