I'd appreciate that Mike. This is the genre I'm least comfortable in, having not been in a nightclub since 2001!

I'd happily share any knowledge I have on a particular genre with anyone. PM me if you'd like a current playlist of tracks I'm feeling right now.

Unfortunately, my personal taste in Deep House/Tech House and Techno will not work in most mobile environments.

If I had been asked for something 'Ibiza' last night - I would of ASSUMED similar tracks to Gary but perhaps a little more current

There you go, that's what is good about this forum.... Mike mentions Deep House/Tech House etc... I wouldn't be able to put tracks into those genres but there you go, Mike is on call to help. I'd like to think I could help with other genres and I am sure others would too.

The lad spent much of Saturday afternoon fielding calls for no show letdowns. I'd come in after a hard day at the office, and John rang to say could I cover one of them? At this point, I've got to give John praise for being an absolute star, he had the laptop up and running, started playing music, and found Karaoke files and loaded them at a moments notice. I couldn't have done the karaoke side without him, and he was fabulous. Well done that man.

I've also got to mention the heat! Trousers and shirt were too much, and I must have used a can of anti perspirant in the night. Mind you, when the sweat's running down your back like a river, it is a big ask to stop it with an aerosol can!

Stand out moments? John pulling the mains lead out of the wall with his chair, and killing everything except his laptop! Me muting John simply because I could. :D Laura the barmaid doing a stunning rendition of an Adele song. Me greeting a punter with my customary " Hello Sir", only to realise that the person concerned wasn't a Sir, even as the words left my lips! :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o John coming to grips with the DJ2GO, which we plugged in, and it simultaneously aided and hampered him. I don't think he'll be selling the 6000 to get one. Best one of the night: The Landlady saying as we left " I've never seen so much kit in my life", as John and I were explaining that we'd just thrown a few bits in the van! I think she'd never seen anyone turn up with a DSB before. I reckon the regular acts just threw a lappy on a pub table.

We finished the night to a big round of applause from relieved and happy punters, and left the gig with two warm glows. One from loading the kit in the heat, and one from knowing we'd rescued someone's party. The fact that we'd been paid as well made it even more worthwhile. Big thanks and praise must go to John for everything last night, the lad's a star.

Would have thought PLI would be required as well:confused:

Id took all the equipment needed to host karaoke. So i took my P.A.T certificate there which covered it. Would have had to make a run back home if so lol.

Oh no we wouldn't John. Did you not see the blue folder I took in? It was full of copies of my PAT and PLI certificates. :D

Back on topic then chaps....

Well , Saturdays wedding was a great event, small wedding with only 44 invited
Hosted at Arundel town hall , over two stories , up stairs was the wedding ceremony , and wedding breakfast , and down stairs was the disco , the heat upstairs was draining on the body . I was there to do the ceremony music as well as the evening disco , I arrive at 2:00pm, set up a small powered speaker and a laptop for the ceremony , I could not get to the downstairs room until after 3:00pm , I was in receipt of the days timinigs , as follows .

3:00-3:45 guests arrive
4:00 Ceremony
4:30 drinks on the terrace
( the terrace is great , wooden decking , oriental plants , and in house lighting , brilliant views over Arundel town , and down to the sea at Littlehampton)
5:00 every one leaves for town for photos
(problem number one , its Arundel festival and the roads are shut , and thousands of people milling around)
6:40 wedding breakfast up stairs
7:45 first dance ( er........no it wont
One hour and 5 minutes for the wedding breakfast and the speeches , and to get people down stairs)
8:20 cake cutting ( upstairs ???)
9:00 bouquet/garter toss
9:05 slow dance , mother son , father daughter etc
10:45 last dance

Well it didn’t quite work out like that , apart from the fact I seemed to be the MC as well ( loved it)
What happened was..............
6:30 wedding breakfast
7:30 speeches , now the bride (yulia) was from Russia , and had around 10-15 members of her family , they could not speak a word of English between them , the speeches had to be translated.............
8:30 cake cutting
9:00 bouquet/garter toss
9:15 first dance
9:20 slow dance for all parents
9:25 disco starts
10:45 disco ends
12:20 arrive home.........
During the wedding breakfast......

This happened about 10 times during the breakfast , It was interesting to see a bit of other cultures rituals of weddings
As luck would have it , Arundel town hall had just put in air con in the down stairs room, so not a bad night heat wise , because of the weather , a lot of people left after the first dance and went up stairs to the free bar on the terraced ,( surprise surprise :D )... all returning at 10:30 for the last knockings , all in all a very good gig.
