Played at Basingstoke last night (Saturday) for a 10th wedding anniversary , due to play from 7:30 until midnight , got there about 4:45 , mainly because I had up lighting to put in.
When I got there most of the guests were milling around , so we got set up very quickly , and I asked the "Bride" if she would like background music for the first buffet ( yes the first of two......:eek:).
See was delighted about the background music , we had arranged to have the "first dance" at 7:30 , followed by cake cutting , then a few songs fro the children .
Well that timing went out the window , first dance was at 6:45 , followed by cake cutting and the children`s songs , so the evening gets going with a few dancing from the off , however i did notice people going early , the ones with children and some of the more senior clients , still, people dancing , I had one of those nights where the playlist did not work , so after a quick word with the "B&G" all was well.
about 10:15 the Bride came over and said " have you noticed there is only six of us left , what do you want to do" , I replied that I was ask to play until midnight , so as long as there was even one person left ,I would continue , that went down very well , after the next song finished the "Groom " came up to me , shook my hand , thanked me for a excellent evening , however the few left were going to catch up with the Rugby on TV , the "Bride" was very tired and retired to here room , he also said , may as well pack up and have an early night , didn't have to ask twice...;) , at home by 11:20 , all in all a good night , very happy couple and a happy DJ.
