I'll cut this one short.
Last night, very intimate wedding at my hotel residency (40 people). Booked from 7.00pm - Midnight. It looked like there were less than 40 there to be honest. Very nice couple in their 30's (Bride was lovely).
Mediocre reaction to anything I played all night. I did a classic wedding set as the B&G said beforehand that they wanted to leave it up to me and the only requests that they had were their first dances. It was very laid back.
It was one of those gigs where I kept looking at the clock and what seemed like an hour was actually about 10 minutes. The B&G came over at 11.05pm and said that they were leaving so I made an announcement. I asked if they wanted me to carry on until midnight and they said to play it by ear. After they left, so did the majority and at around 11.15pm there were 8 people left (I counted them) so I decided to play a couple of slow songs and finish the night. 8 people applauded me which was weird.
Simply put "one of those nights!".
And...pretty much like Darren, even though I had around 40 people, there was one idiot (there always is). I clocked him early on, as did the staff. When the B&G were doing their first dance, all you could hear was "OI! OI!" from the back from...yes..Mr Idiot! I went to the bar to have a word with one of the staff and Mr Idiot tapped me on the shoulder. He was absolutely wrecked and said "Oi DJ! When you going to play some decent :Censored: music?".. I turned to him and said "Don't swear at me!" and walked away. I didn't see him again until around an hour later when he was jumping up and down on the dancefloor on his own and then he fell over just infront of my decks.
A member of staff told him to get up and he sat down and stayed put for the rest of the night. Every now and then you'd hear "OI! OI!" which was annoying. Just before the B&G left, his wife came over and apologised on his behalf which I appreciated.
