I'm happy to say that this weekend I am reaping the rewards that a little networking can do, right here on this site, with a Wedding on Saturday.
Tonight, a bit of a run followed by a quiet night in, Sunday - a bit of gardening maybe.
I got 2 wedding
1 uplighting job in pink and 2 balloon jobs
Resident rock night in Goole tonight, back there on Saturday night for a 'normal' disco, Sunday - going to see family in York...
What with quiz nights every Thursday too - may need to go full time soon lol
Both tonight and Saturday I get home around 3am so may need a lie in tomorrow morning :D
Not complaining mindst, not too bad on the money side - all helps towards holiday spending money and damn car repairs lol
Karaoke disco residencies tonight and tomorrow night. Maybe I should start a local dating website to get people together and maybe we'll get some more weddings off the ground! (although, to be fair, wedding bookings this year are well up on last year! :) )

Saturday morning - Cup final (9am kick off!!!!!!, not much sleep for me then...)

A few white panels out on Dry Hire over the weekend
PA system + lecturn out from Wednesday to next Monday

Lighting Dry Hire to a band collecting today, returning monday
Personally, I'm just manning the unit today 8.30am-7.30pm and coming in for a couple of hours tomorrow afternoon to help un-load and re-load the van, but the rest of the weekend is free :D:D:D
Nothing this weekend. Nice to have a break to get some stuff done at home.
School disco tonight then a wedding for Jonathan Ford. (it's about time he passed me a gig after the work I've given him) :sj: Ta Jon. :approve:

Had planned to go camping this weekend, but the weather has put a stop to that.
So now I am out Saturday for a wedding, covering for a fellow dj who is ill, then Sunday have a christening at one of my walk-in residencies.
Out shortly to Roadie for the legend that is Twinspin, at a very posh hotel near Hull, for a students Ball or similar. We did one for them just before Christmas, in foul weather, they were excellent fun.
Saturday night, I'm putting the Mobile into Mobile disco. Over two hundred yards to the gig!! :eek: :D :D 50th Birthday in a neighbour's barn which will have been fully lined for the occasion. Piccies later.
Just one wedding for me on Saturday.
But next weekend is a whole different ball game ;)
Tonight - 'Community' disco for 11-15s. Small rig. 2.5 hours. Chart music. Basically an excuse to blast modern tunes for a bit.
Tomorrow - Night off so out with some mates for pizza ;-)
Sunday - Tidy the house as it's a tip.
Monday - PAT Testing Competency Course
Saturday only, but there's two of them. A wedding and an engagement
I've decided that I may pop down the local tonight and catch up with my mate who wants to invest in me. He's just got back from a 3 week cruise so will no doubt want to show off his tan etc over a couple of Ciders. There's a covers band playing tonight too so should be a laugh as they're pretty good.
Just the 1 wedding for me this Saturday, then SEDA on Sunday
Easy weekend with 3 kids parties. It'll be so much less work than the 2 weddings last week that had full mood lighting. In fact the 3 parties are less total time than either wedding last week AND I get home before tea time with oh **** Sat night tv...not for me.

Then Im back to Bournemouth to finish my Uni exams.

Weekend off so its beer and huddersfield town fc in the play offs, busy weekend next week including a Disco/ karaoke 60th Birthday...i wish id never started Karaoke! singers want to sing all night and dancers want to dance all night...they never work together!!
Being a dancefloor installer machine today and then tomorrow I have a disco + 20 uplighters and three other DJ's out on various events. Not by design I have to add. Twitchy bum time tomorrow.
One of my Biggest gigs of the year.
Tomorrow (Sat) I will be DJ'ing the after show party at Wembley Studios for ITV's Britains Got Talent.
I am Assistant Stage Managing at The Elgiva Theatre in Chesham for the performance/s of Chess, The Musical that my college are putting on Saturday.
Sunday, I am DJing for a disabled group party at the McMinn Centre in Chesham during the afternoon from 1:30 till 4:30.
nowt for me. Moving house soon so very busy with decorating and various repairs before we move in.
Nothing for me personally, chilled one last night and then down to Cheltenham tonight for a meal with my girlfriends friends.
I'm DJ'ing next Friday and Saturday though so I need to spend a bit of time this week updating my song collection etc!

All drinks are £1 a pint. That's twisting the knife, but I think I could cope by merely having just the one.
So the gear's set up already, and while I'm there rigging up, the wife of the birthday boy says: " You do like Wold Gold don't you? ( Well yeah, I do cos it's lovely ) You'll notice it's £1 a pint, but you're not paying that. Oh no. Yours is free!! "
I've got eight bottles of alcohol free Cobra, but somehow I think my resolve to stay ( virtually ) teetotal may be sorely tested, hence my request for you to all join hands and pray for me.

This is what we did, sorry about the recordings sound, we haven't used this Canon camera before and the audio it records gives very missleading results, quite bizarre I would guess it's been designed to try and enhance voices and eliminate other sounds.

Gone crazy this week for us, 13 events and 3 dry hires so far from now until Sunday. Highlights include:
40ft x 30ft (or something like that) white starlit dance floor in Castle Donnington on Saturday and loads of drape and starcloth at an event in Nottingham on a 7.5t truck.
No days off for me this weekend either as 2 staff are away on holiday so I'm covering :(
Off to Munich on Friday to see The Mighty Blues take on ze Germans. :)

Have a big wedding Friday, in the new ballroom at Heythrop. It l's for family that I've done Weddings, Graduation Parties and 30ths for in the past and they've been a great source of follow on work. Busy event though, early set up, then starting with a kids party, then first dance, then a pause whilst 'Faces of Disco' from BGT do their thing, then playing a piece for them to do a flashmob style dance routine! So lots to remember. Really hoping to get some good pics, so will post up if I do. Then I've got nowt doing for the rest of the weekend...sweeeeeet.
