Good to see it's in good hands! - It can take over your life, if you're not careful! (PS: I came across someone using the old, old, old, PAT & PLI Validatator logos on their website today.... Cheeky...
I'm still alive too, Marc! ;) (I do actually pop in and have a read from time to time, and have actually been reading quite a bit over the last month or so)
I pretty much use it as a hosting site for photos!
I am a member of a lot of the wedding groups and do read them, and even post on them occasionally, but it's rare that I get any genuine enquiries...
Hello neighbour (we're only about 20 minutes away from you), and :welcome2:
:welcome2:
... and don't feel inadequate. Everyone starts at the bottom and continually works their way up / always looking to improve, etc - whether that's with kit, ways of working, business...
HA! ......and you posted, Toby, as I was writing my last post! :)
Yes, they do disperse well, but you can stand in front of one in full disco mode (speaking about the Maui28s here) and still hold...
Do you particularly want a standard speaker on a stand? I mentioned on another thread that we have a white Maui 11 for ceremonies - much tidier than a speaker on a tripod, IMO, plus better dispersal...
Another thing to remember when considering the stick systems (and I'm particularly speaking about the Mauis here as that's what I have most experience of) is that, from your position at the front, if...
Can't help with a recommendation, but my, that's one ugly looking so-and-so to my mind! One of the ugliest speakers I've ever seen!
We've used a pair of Maui 28s for several years now, and they actually fill quite decent-sized rooms very nicely. We've also got a white Maui 11 for ceremonies, but we're also looking for a use for...
My view: The show is much better in the Genting Arena: there was more room, and all the sounds weren't deafening, and there were even quiet(ish) areas, so it was much easier to TALK to people as well...
....and yes, we have had several members of the same family of different generations as members.
You should savour those blonde moments then :p
Looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow!
Just to add a spanner in the works, I'd rather like to go to the BPM After Party this year: I asked Mark Walsh what the entertainment was (expecting it...
Oh, I have no doubt that everyone's had a blonde moment now and then, but the DJ I was originally talking about didn't know what it was..... he thought the only way to change the volume was via the...
As the venue has only just implemented the policy, it's not something we've discussed, but seeing as that is exactly how they have built their recommended lists for all other suppliers, then that's...
Already do this, and include an AVC with the PA Yep. Actually, bands have to finish at 10pm. Similar (but with an AVC in the chain rather than dB meter readings), namely, emails from the venue...
I'd be interested to hear your ideas on how to deal that we haven't already tried.
Certainly not in this case.... however, certainly money was being lost by both us and the venue when not doing...
Putting things from the other side of a coin: we work very closely with a marquee site and have done for a couple of years now. When they first started, they just hired the land and people could...
Can I just point out something to a few on here who seem to be getting a little bit confused.... It's not the 'Red Hot Chili Peppers' doing ALS, it's the 'Red Hot Chilli PIPER'S!!!!!! :daft:
:welcome2:
:welcome2:
What a coicidence.... you might be the perfect person to offer some advice to another newbie who's looking to start a roller disco and looking for suggestions on this thread -...
Well, welcome to this little oasis of sanity :daft:
Hi Danny. I think we've met a few times (you work with Mark Pulley?)
Welcome to MDD!
PS: Did you know that there is another DJ-JD relatively locally?
