The simplest way is to have a track listing on your web site.
I only have about 6,000 titles plus about 1000 Country tracks.
They are listed on the site for easy access and I get the clients to choose from that list, paper lists are non starter for me.
Obviously theres some hard graft in preparing the lists to start with.
If you want to copy mine as a base then help yourself.

Me too. My 'regulars' go straight to the back section first as they all know the new discs are listed there. Once a year I reprint the entire book.
I also only put about 6,000 in the book and all the miscelaneous cds I don't bother with to avoid duplicates. Mostly the sunfly series, most wanteds and legends are in the books.
Occasionally I get asked for a song on the off-chance I may have it and I'lll have a scan through...
It always amazes me that people write down a song without looking in the book or asking... They assume we have everything!

Hmm.
I was doing the same recently - i.e updating my books.
I have Karaoke Song List Creator too - but found the format for printing not what i wanted. So expoert to Excel for formatting. But with increase I found I had aquired too many pages to fit in my plastic sleeve books ( dont use folders they always pull em apart!). So decided to print em in a 4 column format. i.e. 2 lots of track and artist on one page. Could I do it? Nope. After much fighting and pulling of hair with word excel pdf etc etc, I wrote a macro that took and transposed the info to the correct layout i wanted and printed it. Took some doing and I did it more to stick 2 fingers up at the PC TBH, but saves paper! Altho drunk people do tend to find it confusing! But as I am sure those will know in the game - they constantly ask for books / tickets / songs / am I next etc etc anyway, so whats new!
SAVE ME FROM KARAOKE HELL!!!

For my specialist functions I operate a Your Choice menu chosen prior to the gig from the lists and requested tracks from the clients.
Anyone who asks on the night has to name that tune

Just crunch it into the Laptop/Cortex/ Denon HD.

My system only works if you cover Weddings and Private Parties where you have plenty of acccess to the client booking you and can discuss their requirements in detail.
General Discos, Pubs, Clubs Karaoke etc you might use the Excalibur method--
Put it all on a laptop.
I could do that but im bit nervous about punters misusing, spilling drinks or falling over the Laptop etc.

Wish I had the money to design a kiosk for people to choose their karaoke tracks (similar to the likes of photo machines and business card machines) which is then sent to the KJ's computer. Surely they must be a market for this.

There is market for this, but it's already been tapped, Chris! You can buy a touch screen to link in to your system. The software for this has been discussed on the forum before but I'm too tipsy to look for it right now! (d'amn those lovely bottles of Blossom Hill White Zinfandel that go down so well on a Sunday afternoon!)
